Tee Pee

I've been a lazy Internet piece of shit about blogging lately, nevertheless, I feel like my recent art project is definitely worth the effort. My friends Karen and Jesse recently exchanged vows October 1st in Villa Rica, Ga at Sunset Ranch.

Not only was I lucky enough to be invited, but I was asked, along with my new great friend and amazing artist, Patricia Patterson to make a ceremonial Tee Pee for the wedding. Karen brought it up months before the wedding that she desired a tee pee for her and Jesse's wedding. With help from Patricia's book Wildwood Wisdom, we embarked on the big tee pee project 4 weeks prior to the big day. Working on it every chance we had, before work, after work, days off, we finally accomplished what seems to be, to me anyway, the coolest tee pee ever.

Yep, ever. Materials included: Yards and yards of muslin cloth, bamboo cut down from Karen and Jesse's back yard, paint, and a hand drawn pattern from Wildwood Wisdom. For most of the tee pee construction we worked in Karen and Jesse's back yard, right next to the basement where one of my favorite Atlanta bands Black Lodge have band practice, so we had live entertainment as well! It was a super gratifying and fun project to say the least. It turned out to be way cooler than expected and quite a spectacle on the big day.
